Alter Brewing + Kitchen

Alter Brewing has some really good beer on a variety of styles. Should the opportunity arise I plan on drinking more next time. The sandwiches were cool but the wings definitely stole the show. I might need a growler of the Hopular Kid

Visited Alter Oak Brook for a work group outing! There was a total of 8 of us which the restaurant could easily accommodate inside or outside based on our preference. Unlike the Downers Grove location, Oak Brook has all the beers on tap in addition to cocktails and food. Our group got a mixture of all.

I personally tried the golden fiddle and thyme paloma; both were light, refreshing, and delicious! Most people who got beers really enjoyed the variety and flavors offered. We got the roasted corn dip to start and many of us got salads, sandwiches or a flatbread for our mains. I loved that they had vegan options as I am dairy sensitive. It's not often a restaurant will offer vegan options on the main menu rather than a substitute listed. Everyone raved about the food and said they loved their experience!

The last thing that impressed me was in talking to our waitress understanding their staff training process. They make all staff undergo detailed training and quizzes on food and drink offerings so that all are knowledgable to make recommendations. I love that they take the extra step so that staff can put their best food forward in front of patrons.

A beautiful massive brewery in the oakbrook mall, loved the interiors and the food. We ordered the corn dip and the beer battered shrimps, both were so good! Lagger was light and refreshing! Absolutely loved the fries and the black bean burger, the bang bang chicken was a bit on the sweet side. Overall great ambience, great food and amazing beer

Ended up here twice in 1 day - once for a couple beers and a light lunch with the lady and then came back later with the rest of the family when our first choice for dinner in the area just got way too busy. By chance, some sharp manager-type realized that a large party cancelation they received meant that they could actually accommodate our 14-top group on extremely short notice.

And although nothing on the menu stands out as an 'epic can't-miss' dish (or beer), just about everything we had was tasty and well prepared, the kids menu helped immensely, and the adults were all quite happy with the plethora of solid, true-to-style beer selections!

NThe place has a nice upscale atmosphere with plenty of open air, a huge center island bar, extremely clean and modern restrooms, a real nice patio (despite the oppressive heat it was shaded enough to be useful to several patrons), and the extensive beer/drink and food menus. Like everything in Oakbrook, it's a touch pricey, but worth a date night visit and/or worth checking off a list of breweries to visit.

Good service and food with excellent beer offerings! Enjoy bring family and friends to enjoy food and beer specials.

Alter does a great job with craft beer and food! We enjoy the large bar and seating area on every visit, and always leave happy with our experience at Alter!

I came for the beer and came back for the food. One of the best kitchens in craft beer not only in Chicago but I would say in the country. The service at the bar is always great, and there is a wide range of beers for everyone to try!

The shrimp app does it for me every time. That with an ALTERior Motive and I'm good to go. Great spot for large parties!

The beer and service is excellent. Their food looked good, but I didn't have any on this visit as I had eaten prior. They had a ginormous pretzel that I would try next time but only with a party of 6 or more, it was huge.

I was a bit confused by the ambiance / decor. It looks like it might have been another restaurant before? Maybe not? But the chandelier and some of the other light fixtures didn't feel to fit the space. They had tvs with various games but they were up out of the way so to speak (Which is not a bad thing per se) but I'd you go to watch a game if might be hard to watch eve from the bar.

Overall I enjoyed my beer and would come back.

I would go back for just the pretzel alone!

I brought my family (4 people) to this spot and we got the pretzel and brisket nachos. Half of us didn't order food because we were full after the appetizers.

Service was good and didn't take long for drinks or food to come out.

The vibe is so fun and is a good spot to meet friends or watch a game. I unfortunately don't drink beer so I can't speak to the beverages.

We celebrated my girlfriends birthday with her pick to try Alter Brewing company in Oak Brook and it was wonderful! I loved everything about it. The beers flight was delicious and we get to try different ones. We started with a vegan quesadilla and I can't believe how delicious it tasted! You can't even tell it was vegan! The cheese melts in your mouth and that was my favorite dish of the evening!

My girlfriend ordered their branzino fish and she said that was delicious and I got the ahi tuna tostadas and mine was also great. And we ended with a chocolate cake for her birthday. Can't celebrate a birthday without cake!

Ambiance was nice but make sure you make reservations because they were BUSY which is a good thing. I would definitely go back again!

I enjoyed this location more than the other. We stopped here after Fogo, which is right next door. Didn't have to move and find a new parking spot (which was a cluster).

This location is fairly new and it was very busy! Seemed like everyone was enjoying themselves.

We didn't eat, just sat at the bar and got a flight of beer. They didn't have a sour beer, but did have some nice IPAs, and I'm not a big IPA drinker.

Restaurant/brewery was clean and had a slight fine dining feel. The bartenders were nice, friendly, and quick. The bar was clean and organized. The flight was reasonable at $11.

I liked the Hell Hazed Over and Heavy Squeeze. For a large brewery, I thought it was odd they had 4-5 tvs, but they were oddly positioned, not really visible to everyone at the bar.
