With elections over, the question we keep hearing is, ‘how will
this affect my business?’ We’ll be discussing that issue at the next
Legislative Impact Network meeting which is on the 21st at noon in
the chamber conference room.
Dennis Culloton, Executive Vice
President for Res Publica will provide a colorful overview of the recent
elections, how the results affect us, our local officials and the businesses in
Downers Grove.
Dennis, a former broadcast journalist and licensed attorney, is
one of the most experienced public affairs practitioners in Chicago. His career
achievements include serving as corporate communicator for Blue Cross and Blue
Shield of Illinois; communicating the City of Chicago’s messages as it hosted
the 1996 Democratic National Convention, assuming the challenge of being the
spokesperson for the World’s Busiest Airport and the Chicago Airport System; and
tackling the job of press secretary for embattled former Illinois Gov. George
Ryan.
Don’t miss the elections from the perspective of Dennis Culloton!
The Senate is scheduled to return to Springfield next week for
the first week of veto session. The House has cancelled their first week of the
veto session, but rumors are still circulating that the governor may call
legislators back for special session next week.
The list of newly elected officials, joining the General Assembly
is below. Congratulations to all! On a local note, with the victory of Mike
Connelly, Chairman Schillerstrom and the board will be appointing a new DuPage
County board member.
