The Junior Board will be an organization of young adults committed to promoting the compassionate works of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Joliet, specifically in DuPage County and in particular Hope House, and becoming leaders through effective community action, including volunteer service, social fundraising, and spiritual growth. What is Hope House? Hope House provides housing and supportive services to individuals and families in DuPage County who are situationally homeless. During a temporary, short stay, participants work toward securing employment and permanent housing. Who is Invited? The Catholic Charities Junior Board is seeking men and women in their 20’s and 30’s who are interested in charitable work, connecting to the broader community, and growing personally and spiritually. Junior Board members will become more involved in the work of Catholic Charities and enjoy giving back to the community. There are no professional or education restrictions upon Junior Board membership. What Can You Do? The Junior Board will work together to do three basic things: serve, support, and connect. Participants in this network will lead their peers in service (volunteering at Hope House on a regular basis and other special projects); development work (supporting charitable causes and projects through fundraising and events); and social networking (social opportunities for young professionals to meet others their age and work together in faith toward a common goal).
