Event Description: Naper Settlement is holding a Volunteer Open House from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, at the Meeting House, located on the corner of Webster Street and Porter Avenue in Naperville. Adults, teens and young people in fourth through seventh grades who are interested in becoming costumed volunteers, and prospective adult volunteers who want to assist in non-costumed positions are invited to learn more about volunteering. Costumed volunteers wear period-appropriate clothing and interpret the life and daily work of townspeople from the 1830s to the early 1900s. Non-costumed volunteers also will have the option of training to be a historic building interpreter. Other opportunities include clerical assistants, greeters and servers for Settlement Sundays, day camp program helpers, special events logistics, floral designers with the Weed Ladies, Museum Store clerks and gardeners. Call Naper Settlement’s Volunteer Manager at (630) 305-5256 for more information.
