The American Wind Band (AWB) is presenting a free concert, open to the public on Sunday, October 17th at 3:00 p.m. The concert will be in the auditorium of Lincoln Center, 935 Maple in Downers Grove. The American Wind Band features professional and semi-professional musicians from the DuPage area. Their concerts have received rave reviews from area residents. Seating is limited so come early and enjoy an afternoon of live music.The band is under the direction Angelo Iovinelli of Downers Grove. This concert and all of the bands concerts throughout the year are free and open to the public. "Our band is a community band that rehearses in the band room of O Neill Middle School, 635 59th Street,Downers Grove, IL, each Tuesday evening at 7:30. Membership is without audition, players will have fun playing and performing great band music both popular and classical” said Mr. Iovinelli retired band director of Riverside-Brookfield High School. "Just dust off that instrument case and start tooting. It's time to enjoy the world of music again. We have openings in all sections so come out and play with the AWB. Some members have been playing music for over 50 years and a few young members are in the Downers North High School Symphonic Band."
