Support Our Troops This Holiday
Season!
Once again, we are working together with the USO to show
our appreciation and support to our men and women in uniform who will be away
from home for the Holidays.
We will be collecting items for USO Sweet Home Chicago Care
Packages to be sent overseas to our troops. Below is a list of the
"most requested" items. Please bring your donated items to my district office
at 1 South Cass Avenue, Suite 205, in Westmont. Our collection days will be
Wednesday, November 10th through Friday, November 19th
(9am-5pm). My office phone number is 630/852-8633 if you want to call to make
sure that someone is available to accept your donated items.
Please provide new items only!!
- CHICAGO SPORTS TEAM MERCHANDISE
Hats, Shirts, Banners, Footballs, Basketballs, Baseballs, etc.
- SPORTING EQUIPMENT
Footballs, Soccer Balls, Baseball Equipment, Outdoor Game Items, Badmitten,
etc.
- BOARD GAMES
Monopoly, Checkers, Chess, UNO, Dominoes, Dice, Playing Cards, Darts, etc.
- SNACKS
Beef jerky, Ramen noodle cups, Easy Mac Cups, mixed nuts, hard candy,
(nothing chocolate because it melts), individual water flavor packets, plastic
silverware, Zip Lock bags (or anything that can keep dirt and sand off things),
cookies, Skittles, Sprees, gum, trail mix, Craisins, any sort of dried fruit,
ready to eat tuna or chicken salad kits, single serving boxes of cold cereal.
- HEALTH AND COMFORT
Baby wipes, disinfectant wipes, sun block, lip balm, deodorant, hand and foot
warmers
- and not to forget our military women
Female type items, such as bath and body lotions, soaps, shampoo
- MAGAZINES (New and current)
Sports Illustrated, Time, People
- BOOKS
Anything new or current
- DVD's
New or classic movies
- ELECTRONICS
Computer flash/thumb drives, headsets, handheld electronic games
- INTERNATIONAL PHONE CARDS
- Most importantly, cards and letters of support from the folks
back home.
Thank you for helping us spread some holiday cheer to our troops who won't
be with their families this holiday season….and to let them know that we are
very proud of them and overwhelmingly grateful for their service to our country.
