Webster Street Naperville, IL 60540 Phone: Not Available Event Description: Celebrate North Central College's 150th anniversary with an exhibit that explores the college from its early beginnings through today. The exhibit, “150 Years: A Promising Start,” opens Sept. 15 at Naper Settlement’s Heritage Gallery and echoes the theme of the college’s Sesquicentennial celebration. The first day of classes was held on Nov. 11, 1861. In 1870, the college moved from Plainfield to Naperville with the laying of the cornerstone for Old Main, the limestone building that housed all campus operations for its first 30 years in Naperville. The exhibit will be on display through mid-June 2012 at Naper Settlement’s Pre-Emption House Visitor Center, 523 S. Webster St., Naperville.
