Grammy award-winning artist Wayne Johnson will be the featured entertainment during the annual event. The event begins with guitar talk and demonstrations as theatre doors open at 1 p.m. for a preview of the guitars and a chance to test drive the wide selection of custom guitars that Taylor will have on display. Then, beginning at 2 p.m., sit back and enjoy a performance by Grammy award-winning American jazz and acoustic guitarist Wayne Johnson, who won a joint award in 2004 for his contribution to the album Pink Guitar, featuring the songs of composer Henry Mancini. Johnson is currently a guitarist for Bette Midler’s Las Vegas show at Caesar’s Palace. Best known for their acoustic guitars, Taylor is considered the “Lexus of the guitar world. ” Tobias Music of Downers Grove, owned by Paul Tobias, is the number one dealer for Taylor guitars in Illinois and Taylor’s 6th largest dealer nationwide. Also on display will be the collection of Taylor Liberty Tree Guitars. These rare guitars were built from the wood of one of the original Liberty Trees, which were an important part of our country’s 13 Original Colonies and The American Revolution. At the October 23rd Road Show, the Taylor staff will share insights on the company's guitar-making process and demonstrate how body shapes and woods affect tone. After the demonstration, players are invited to take part in the "Petting Zoo": an opportunity to play a variety of different models, as well as rare and custom Build to Order guitars. Tobias Music will have the Fall 2011 Limited Edition Guitars on display for preorders. Whether you are a longtime Taylor guitar owner or looking to purchase your very first guitar, Taylor factory staff will be providing demos and advice. While one-of-a-kind Taylor guitars are on display, many will be available for sale. Admission to each Road Show is free.
