Event Description: Downers Grove, IL – Go on a crazy, fun musical adventure this month with Midnight at the Tivoli’s screening of cult classic, “The Blue Brothers” [R], on June 28th at the Tivoli Theatre, 5021 Highland Avenue in downtown Downers Grove. Admission is only $5 and tickets for this musical comedy film are available for purchase at the Tivoli Theatre box office. The Tivoli Theatre will have a Bluesmobile before the showing—make sure to get a picture with this iconic replica car! In “The Blues Brothers,” John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd reprise their characters “Joliet” Jake and Elwood Blues, initially developed on NBC’s Saturday Night Live. When Jake is released from prison, he and his brother visit the orphanage they were raised in to find it in danger of being foreclosed. Determined to save their childhood home and convinced their mission was ordained by God, the brothers reform their rhythms and blue band to raise the $5,000 needed to save the orphanage. Followed by a mysterious woman and wanted by the Illinois state and local police, the brothers struggle to book shows for their band and make enemies along the way. Will they be able to save the last remnant of their childhood memories? “The Blues Brothers” was filmed in Illinois with many of the scenes in Chicago.
