Date: 9/26/2015 Time: 12:00 PM TO 4:00 PM Grove west of Main Street Downers Grove, IL 60515 Phone: 630-963-1300 Event Description: Downers Grove Chilympics Chili Cook-off Saturday, Sept 26, 12-4pm Join us for a day of food, live music, a beer garden and fun for the entire family! This International Chili Society sanctioned, home-style chili competition attracts competitors from all over. New this year, we have added a homemade salsa competition. Entry to the festival is free, and chili and salsa samples will be available for purchase. The winner of this chili cook-off earns $500 cash and an automatic bid to the ICS World Championship. Second place will take home $250, third place $100, and salsa winner will take home $100. Our DJ will kick off the day at noon with music and dancing, followed by a live culinary demonstration at 12:30 pm. The People’s Choice tasting competition will start at 1:00 pm for salsa (while supplies last), and 2:00 pm for chili (while supplies last), followed by a live performance from Nick Lynch.
