The Downers Grove Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry is
pleased to announce the hiring of Laura Crawford as President & CEO.
John Randall, Chairman of the Board of Directors stated, “We are
very excited to have Laura lead our organization forward in the coming years.
It is a testament to Laura’s abilities that she was selected from a nationwide
search of very capable executives.”
Prior to joining the Downers Grove Area Chamber of Commerce and
Industry, Laura served as Senior Vice President of Marketing, Membership and
Legislative Affairs for the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce. “Laura has
been a huge part of the success we have enjoyed as a Chamber over the last
several years and it is bittersweet to see her go. We will miss her, but I’m
sure she will do a tremendous job in Downers Grove,” said Naperville Area
Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Mike Skarr.
“I am very grateful for the support and vision of the Executive
Committee and Board of Directors to enable such a thorough process. In
particular, our nominating committee volunteers of Steve Harap, Laura Neiberg
and Valerie Bruggeman for their time, expertise and dedication to our four-month
process,” said Randall.
Crawford brings the experience and skills that are necessary to
take the Chamber to the next level of excellence. Her collaboration skills and
strategic experience in Naperville will be a key part of the strategic planning
process as the Executive Board further develops goals for the next chapter of
the Chamber’s growth. Randall is pleased with Crawford’s appointment. “I am
confident that Laura will assimilate quickly into the Downers Grove
Business community.”
Additionally, Randall extended his thanks “to the wonderful
dedication of our staff during these months of transition. Michael Bogert,
Heather Prince, Damienne Souter, Ann Hattan, and Melanie Burjek are very
dedicated to the well being of our members and will serve Laura well in the
coming months and years.”

Welcome Reception on
Thursday, April 19
from 5:00 -
7:00 pm.
Ms. Crawford will begin her new duties on April 2nd.
